Twenty-Six

After seven years of photographing weddings I am going to say how lucky I am to have had such great brides and grooms to work with.  Seriously, I'm not here to report any horror stories other than ones about myself.  Such as a wedding I photographed in Elk Rapids when I backed up into the baptismal pool as the bride and groom walked back up the aisle together.  Yes, you read that correctly, I sat down in a baptismal pool, was mortified, and later on the priest told me I was "well blessed".

I knew last winter when when Logan and Chris walked into the studio with their parents that if we all worked together we would have a fabulous day.  Today was the day and fabulous it was!  At every wedding I photograph I have moments that strike me.  One of today's moments was during the cake cutting.  After the bride and groom had cut their cake I realized the entire bridal party (eighteen of them minus the bride and groom) were up from the bridal table and watching.  They then proceeded to hang out and enjoy each others company until dinner was served.  I thought it was pretty cool because I don't see that often.  Logan and Chris, you have an incredible bunch of friends and family whom, I think, would all make great presidents of your fan club.  Congratulations and thanks for sharing such an amazing day with us!

Twenty-Two

Yesterday was one of the best.  Joni and Michael, whom I've known since I moved back to Traverse City six years ago, were married at Black Star Farms.  What an incredible day and celebration!  Thank you for including us!

Joni's veil was long and amazing and she wore it well.  The best part was that she wore it during the entire day after she put it on.  When that veil was too long to be practical, she would just wrap it around her arm and continue on.  Way to rock the veil, Joni.  Congratulations to you and Michael!  I've included a veil snap below for you!

Day Twenty-One...

I am aware that I did not post an entry yesterday.  Not really wanting to discuss it either, since I'm perfectly content with where I am at on this personal challenge.

Today I'm going to post a photo of a wedding I photographed yesterday at Bower's Harbor Inn.  It's a image that struck me as I was briefly reviewing what I had captured during the day.

Congratulations, Jeannie and John!  Thanks for having me along on such a special day in your lives together.

And that is all for today.  I am off to another wedding!

Day Sixteen...

Okay, so I had an issue last week.  I pulled a muscle in my arm and was seriously freaked out about the wedding I had to photograph.  So Becca shows up on Saturday AM as my Mom is ironing my shirts (yep, I'm spoiled!) and I am looking over my pile of equipment to load into my car.  Had this pulled muscle occurred any later in the week I would have been more challenged for sure.  However, a terrific night of sleep on Friday made a huge difference and I was able to pull it all off with some serious hauling assistance from my assistant, Becca.  At one point I looked over at her and I don't know if she could have fit another strap over her head but if she could have I think she would have!  Thank you, Becca!

Meghan and Nick (plus your crew), you were great, too.  Super easy-going yet ready for adventure!  One photo below to tease you.  Happy Honeymoon!
